Welcome to Spring Cleaning™3.0. This installer includes the Spring Cleaning application, Spring Cleaning Database, Spring Cleaning Apple Guide, Spring Cleaning Plug-ins folder, the Spring Cleaning User's Guide, Spring Cleaning Logs folder, Register Spring Cleaning 3.0, this Read Me, and a "What was installed (and where)" document.
Step-By-Step Installation Instructions:
Below are step-by-step instructions for installing your new software. You may save a copy of this text to disk (by clicking the Save button).
In the narrative below, we assume that you are familiar with basic Macintosh concepts and user-interface elements (such as pointing, clicking, double-clicking, the desktop, windows, buttons, menus, dialogs, etc.). If not, please refer to your Macintosh User's Guide for explanation of any unfamiliar terms or concepts.
1. To install, copy the Spring Cleaning installer from the CD to your hard disk.
To proceed, restart your Mac with extensions off. Or, to install directly from the CD, restart your Mac with only the extensions necessary for reading a CD-ROM. See the Installation chapter in the User's Guide for more information. Installation problems can usually be avoided by installing with minimal extensions.
2. Double-click the “Spring Cleaning 3.0” installer icon.
3. Click “Continue” at the opening splash screen.
4. Click “Save” if you want to save this text to follow along as you perform the installation.
You can also print a copy of this text to your hard drive by clicking the Print button. This will only print a copy if you have your printing extensions enabled.
5. Click “Continue” button.
6. Click “Agree” to License Agreement.
You must agree to the License Agreement before installing the software. If you do not agree to the License Agreement you must quit the installation and return the entire product to the place of purchase. When you click Agree, you will be presented with a registration dialog where you must enter your name and product registration number. The product registration number can be found on the back of the CD-ROM case and on the Product Registration Card that came with your package. After entering the information, click "Register".
7. Click "Install".
Click the Install button for a full installation of all parts of the Spring Cleaning package.
8. Select a destination for the installation.
A dialog is presented asking where you would like to install Spring Cleaning 3.0. Once you have selected the destination click the "Install" button.
9. Click “Restart”.
When the installation is complete you should see a dialog allowing you to Continue, Quit or Restart. If you wish to install again, for example, onto another drive or partition, click Continue. If you want to proceed with other installations, such as Desktop Magician, click Quit, then run the other installers. If you are finished installing, click Restart. Your Macintosh will automatically restart.
Register Your Software
Double click the "Register Spring Cleaning" icon in the Spring Cleaning™ 3.0 Folder. It will connect to the Aladdin Registration Web site and allows you to register now via your web browser. Registered users are entitled to technical support, upgrade notices, and special offers on Aladdin products.
If you prefer, you can register by mail. Simply complete and mail your postage-paid Registration Card which is included in the package. Your product Registration Number is already on the Registration Card. The registration number can also be found on the back of the CD-ROM case. You may need this Registration Number when contacting Aladdin Systems, so keep it handy.

Important Things to Note and Remember
• This installer will install Spring Cleaning 3.0.1 which fixes a minor timeout bug found in version 3.0.
• Font Remover always scans the active System Folder on your startup disk in addition to the volumes selected in the Target Search window.
• When you have completed any actions in Font Remover, you should restart your Macintosh.
• You may notice an increase in speed and performance if you have the Macintosh Easy Open control panel enabled.
• Due to the unique way that Duplicate Remover groups files additional sort options are not available with this search.
Attention SpaceSaver Users
• MacUninstaller and Orphan Adopter force applications compressed with SpaceSaver to be expanded. If you have SpaceSaver configured to recompress files at idle time this could cause you to run out of disk space. Changing SpaceSaver's preferences so that recompression occurs immediately will prevent the disk from becoming full, however this may cause some delay during the search.
Possible Conflicts & Workarounds
• In Font Remover when moving fonts from a suitcase, they will appear individually (without a suitcase) in the destination you choose. If you move all the fonts from an existing suitcase, the same thing will happen, and the empty suitcase will appear in the Finder Trash.
